Coming up with a solid definition of sexual wellness is a difficult task, because every society, every culture, and every individual has a different perception of what it means to be sexually "healthy." Not to mention that there are immeasurable myths, misconceptions and unnecessary taboos related to sex have contributed to an inaccurate or unhealthy understanding of sexuality.
These unhealthy and negative associations of sexual wellness are detrimental to relationships, general quality of life and overall well-being. In this Blog, we would like to explain to you what Sexual Wellness does stand for.
How do you define sexual well-being?

Sexual Wellness is a crucial factor in our physical and emotional health. Our sexuality is a healthy and natural part of who we are. It is an intimate expression of our emotions and personal beliefs and helps us connect with those around us. By understanding and increasing our sexual wellness, we align our physical health with our emotions and improve our overall health.
A health declaration or using a condom against STDs does not automatically make you sexually healthy. However, having a sexually transmitted disease does not mean that you cannot be sexually healthy.
How can you be sexually healthy?
Sexual well-being is the understanding that sex is not just intercourse or masturbation. It has to do with our overall well-being, how we feel about ourselves and how connected we are to our partner(s).
Sexual well-being consists of several factors, including:
Recognizing and respecting the sexual rights we all share.
Have access to information about sexual health, education and care.
Practice safe sex and seek care when necessary.
Experiencing sexual pleasure, satisfaction and intimacy when desired.
Communicating about sexual health with others, including sexual partners and health care providers.
For most of us, sexual well-being is still part of a journey of discovery. Try these tips to improve your own sexual well-being:

Visit the doctor: There is nothing embarrassing about having medical professionals there to help you solve any problems or answer any questions you may have. Get tested regularly and take a closer look at what’s going on down there.
